Bupron XL 300 Tablet is used in the treatment of depression and smoking addiction. This medicine helps by increasing the level of chemical messengers in the brain that relax the nerves and have a calming effect on the brain.
Bupron XL 300 mg Tablet contains Bupropion which belongs to a group of medicines called Antidepressants. BUPRON XL 300MG TABLET or Bupropion HCL 300 mg is used to treat major depressive disorder (persistent depresstion) and prevent seasonal affective disorder (depression that occurs due to seasonal changes) in affected individuals.
Bupron XL 300 mg Tablet should be used with caution during pregnancy and in women planning for pregnancy only if it is clearly necessary. It is also used advised to be used with caution in breast-feeding women only if it is necessary since the medicine may pass through breast milk.
Bupron XL 300 mg Tablet or Bupropion Hydrochloride 300 tablet is generally not recommended for use in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years) unless it is clearly considered necessary. The medicine is advised to be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 65 years/above) after consulting the doctor.
Some common side effects of this medicine include insomnia (difficulty sleeping), allergic reaction, impaired concentration, sweating, headache, nausea, vomiting, and dry mouth. It even causes dizziness and sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus. Moreover, most of the side effects are immediate and often go away with time. Please consult your doctor if these bother you or do not go away.
Bupron XL 300 Tablet is advised to take this medicine at a fixed time each day. You should never skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. This medication mustn't be stopped suddenly as it may worsen your symptoms. Before taking this medicine it is important to inform your doctor if you have any history of seizure or if you drink alcohol. Inform your doctor if you develop any unusual mood changes or if you have any suicidal thoughts.
Before taking Bupropion Hydrochloride 300 Tablet or Bupron XL 300 mg Tablet, inform your doctor if you are diabetic, have/ever had head injury, seizures, depression, suicidal thoughts, tumor in brain/spine, high blood pressure, heart, kidney, and/or heart problems.
